Privacy Statement

Synergy & Leadership Exchange (Synergy) endorses and complies with the provisions of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, and encourages parents or guardians of children under age 13 to assist with or monitor their children’s online interaction with the Synergy website.

Registration of students for the Gathering of Champions student recognition event asks students or parents to list their name, address, mailing address, email address and telephone number, only for the purpose of reserving and confirming seating for the Gathering of Champions events. Advance registration is not required to participate in many of the event’s associated activities, although seating is limited for the hourly recognition programs and may not be available without registering in advance. This registration information is not publicized and is not shared with any third party. Academic All-Star names are published on a roster displayed only at the Gathering of Champions. Pre-registered Academic All-Star names will be printed in the program, which is given out to attendees of the Gathering of Champions.

Nominations for the WEM Outstanding Educator Awards ask for personally identifying information, including a name, mailing address, email address, or telephone number, which is requested to confirm nomination submissions. Nominators are not identified to their nominees. If a nominee asks to learn the name of their nominator, the nominator is contacted for authorization to disclose their identity. If the nominator is a student who is not of legal age, permission from the student’s parent or guardian is requested. If the permission is not granted, the nominator’s name is not disclosed to the nominee. The disclosure or lack of disclosure of a nominator’s name does not affect the nomination. This information is not publicized and is not shared with any third party.

No information is collected by Synergy using cookies, computer tracking devices or any other means that is not visible or apparent to a visitor to the Synergy website.
Upon written request to the Synergy, a student’s parents or legal guardian may review their child’s personal identifying information, may request its deletion, and may refuse to allow any further collection or use of their child’s information for any purpose.

The management and access of information collected through the Synergy website is limited to Synergy staff and technical service providers who are required to abide by these privacy guidelines and need to use the information to provide services to you or in order to perform their assigned duties. Event Photo/Video Policy

Synergy & Leadership Exchange (Synergy) reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event sponsored by Synergy, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. Synergy may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by Synergy including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.

Any person desiring not to have their photo taken or distributed must contact Synergy in writing of his/her intentions and include a photograph. Synergy will use the photo for identification purposes and will hold it in confidence.
